Abstract

Based on the findings in Chap. 1, this chapter develops the basic mechanism of social selection, by introducing and examining of the sufficiency predicates of this type of selection. The entire research is conducted under the aegis of the concept of symbolic species, as opposed to biological/natural species. Fundamentally, the very mechanism of the social fitness selection is designed and (qualitatively) assessed. Based on the elucidation of the mechanism of social fitness selection, the concept of financial fitness is defined and analyzed, starting from a critical review of the most known (and accepted) six models of the financial market. Finally, based on dedicated criteria, a typology of eight classes of financial fitness is proposed and correlated with the six financial models considered.
