Abstract

This chapter delves into the examination of the impact of entrepreneurship on the integration of post-Soviet immigrants in Austria, which is classified as a coordinated market economy (CME) by the Varieties of Capitalism (VoC) framework. Despite Austria’s attraction as a destination for immigrants due to its high standard of living, social protection, soft climate, and rich cultural heritage, post-Soviet immigrants face limited access to the labor market and limited opportunities for entrepreneurship. As a result, post-Soviet immigrant entrepreneurs tend to establish more partnerships with other immigrants than with indigenous Austrians. The chapter reveals and categorizes the three forms of post-Soviet entrepreneurship in Austria based on their position in the Austrian market, their relationship with the post-Soviet immigrant community, and their contribution to integration.
