Abstract

Zusammenfassung Sowohl Schwellenländer als auch OECD-Märkte sind ständig bemüht, ausländische Direktinvestitionen (ADI) anzuziehen. In den letzten Jahrzehnten hat sich die Investitionsförderung immer weiter professionalisiert. In diesem Kapitel werden Best Practices von Investitionsförderungsagenturen identifiziert, die Nachhaltigkeit am effektivsten in ihre ADI-Förderungspolitik integrieren. Das Umfeld der Investitionsförderungsagenturen (IPA) ist derzeit einem raschen Wandel unterworfen, der neue Geschäftsmodelle und -praktiken hervorbringt. Die jüngste Generation von IPAs ist derzeit nur sporadisch in der Welt zu finden: Diese IPAs der vierten Phase berücksichtigen bei ihren Investitionsförderungsaktivitäten mehr oder weniger explizit Nachhaltigkeitskriterien. Solche Nachhaltigkeitskriterien beziehen sich auf wirtschaftliche, soziale und ökologische Faktoren.
