Abstract

The aim of the study is to review extant literature so as to evidence that organisations need to develop the individuals, at all levels, in order for innovationInnovation and creativityCreativity to flourish amidst the current dynamic environmentDynamic environment. This development will give rise to innovation and the proposal of new solutions that lead the organisation towards a sustainableSustainable and long life. The pioneer theorist, Mary Parker Follett—theorises that, through the concept of constructive conflict, individuals are encouraged to network via the sharing of their experiences and tacit knowledge. Participation at the individual level is fundamental. The Industry 5.0Industry 5.0 way of thinking is also highlighted to enhance the human-centredHuman-centred and personalised collaborationPersonalised collaboration evident between humansHumans and machinesMachines in this industrial revolutionIndustrial revolution that harnesses the value of innovationInnovation to foment sustainabilitySustainability. The study design entails an exploration and critique of extant literature on learningLearning organisations, cultureCulture, neoliberalismNeoliberalism and entreprenurship within the context of Higher Education Institutions. The value of this study is directed at the Follettian view of integration and entrepreneurship centresEntrepreneurship centres in the UniversityUniversity space. Research implications and limitations entail that the study could be further developed by conducting primary data collection in order to ascertain the transition from the neoliberal to the Follettian model.
