Abstract

Zusammenfassung Es wird ein theoretischer Rahmen für die Motivation der Offenlegung des intellektuellen Kapitals von gemeinnützigen Organisationen entwickelt, der auf den Verbindungen zwischen sechs Theorien beruht. Die in der Literatur am häufigsten verwendeten Theorien zur Erforschung des Themas IK-Messung und -Berichterstattung sind die Agency-Theorie, die Legitimitätstheorie, die ressourcenbasierte Sichtweise und die Stakeholdertheorie. Diese Theorien werden im Hinblick auf die IK-Berichterstattung von NPOs vorgestellt, um eine transparente und nachvollziehbare Wahl der angewandten Theorie zu ermöglichen. Da die Legitimitätstheorie Teil der Institutionentheorie ist und die ressourcenbasierte Sichtweise und die Theorie der Ressourcenabhängigkeit auf denselben Annahmen beruhen, werden auch diese Theorien vorgestellt. Da jede der vorgestellten Theorien wertvolle Antworten auf die Frage liefert, was NPOs dazu bewegt, ihr IK offenzulegen, bietet eine Tabelle einen Überblick über die Schlüsselperspektive der sechs Theorien, während eine Grafik die Verbindungen zwischen den Theorien verdeutlicht. Infolgedessen werden die Stakeholdertheorie und die Theorie der Ressourcenabhängigkeit als theoretischer Rahmen für die Analyse der gesammelten Daten verwendet, um die Forschungsfragen zu beantworten.
