Abstract

Zusammenfassung Jahrhundertelang haben die wirtschaftspolitischen Entscheidungsträger (wenn auch nicht die Lehrbücher der Wirtschaftstheorie) zu einem beträchtlichen Teil erkannt, dass die Komplexität der menschlichen Natur und der Gesellschaft den gleichen dynamischen Charakter hat wie die Märkte, was zum großen Teil der österreichischen Theorie zu verdanken ist. Durch die Ausweitung der österreichischen Forschung auf andere Bereiche, einschließlich der Evolutionsökonomie und der Sozialwissenschaften, hat die auf österreichischen Erkenntnissen basierende Theorie gezeigt, dass der Wettbewerbsprozess durch einen parallelen Prozess ergänzt werden muss, der im gemeinsamen (nicht marktbestimmten) Sektor stattfindet, sei es eine Kraft des öffentlichen Sektors, der Gesellschaft oder beider.
