Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Welt, die in vielen Teilen von Konflikten, zunehmender Gewalt und weit verbreiteter Verfolgung geprägt ist, erlebt zwei gegensätzliche Szenarien: ein langsamer und schwankender Anstieg des Zustroms von Migranten auf regulärem Weg und gleichzeitig ein Rekordniveau an internen und externen Zwangsvertreibungen. Im Jahr 2015 waren im Durchschnitt jede Minute 24 Personen gezwungen, Heim und Herd zu verlassen, was bedeutet, dass eine von 107 Personen vertrieben wurde. Zusammengenommen würden sie eine Bevölkerung bilden, die größer ist als die des Vereinigten Königreichs oder Italiens. Erschwerend kommt hinzu, dass die Welt eine Rekordzahl an Todesfällen von Migranten auf dem Weg zu ihren Zielorten zu verzeichnen hat – durchschnittlich 24 Todesfälle pro Tag im Jahr 2016, was einem Anstieg von 35 % gegenüber 2015 entspricht.
