Abstract

Zusammenfassung In diesem Kapitel werden die aufeinanderfolgenden Runden der EU-Afrika-Abkommen und das vierstufige Präferenzsystem der Europäischen Union für Entwicklungsländer unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der Wirtschaftspartnerschaftsabkommen (EPA/EPA) untersucht. Vollständige EPA und Interims-EPA werden im Hinblick auf die daraus resultierenden Länderkonfigurationen in Afrika und ihre Auswirkungen auf die offiziell angestrebte Konsolidierung afrikanischer Regionalgemeinschaften untersucht. Die Analyse kommt zu dem Schluss, dass die künstlichen EPA-Konfigurationen keiner der bestehenden regionalen Wirtschaftsgemeinschaften in Afrika entsprechen. Wenn sie Bestand haben, werden sie sich sehr kritisch auf die regionale wirtschaftliche Integration Afrikas auswirken, zumal sie in anderen Handelsabkommen zwischen afrikanischen und nördlichen Parteien nachgeahmt werden.
