Abstract

This chapter unveils a simple level of Foucaultian analysis. It explores the reasons why Foucault’s thought is especially relevant to the human body, discussing terms such as biopower and biopolitics. It also explores reasons for connection between power, knowledge, control, and disposition of the human body and findings emanating from it, a representation of a unification of the body and technology to elicit knowledge. Situations such as incidental findings arising from scans unrelated to CNNM research, the relative probity of different technologies, and the ramifications of some of the outcomes of ethical dilemmas associated with CNNM is contrasted and studied through the deployment of Foucaultian concepts.
