Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the innovation processes in the circular economy in hotel companies of Jalisco, Mexico, based on bibliographic sources of innovation, focused on the Quintuple Helix alluding to the circular economy, where a mixed methodology of exploratory type with a deductive method was used, applying a survey to 15 prestigious hotels and three interviews to experts of circular economy in Jalisco. The respondents were 60% large companies, 20% medium, 13% small, and 7% micro. As for the circular economy, to take care of the environment, guests use public transportation and carpool in high percentages. The products used in the hotel are biodegradable, come from the local area and are not imported. Regarding water care, sheets and towels are recycled and reused. Concerning the type of smart energy, automatic spotlights, solar panels, and Earth Check certifications are the latest.
