Categorical Utopia Theory

Abstract

Often utopias are dreams with little theoretical basis or are banned as abstract “complete other”, that cannot be thought of today. Categorical utopia is a method for discussing and examining non-existent socio-economic systems. It is based on a thorough critic of existing society and develops an alternative based on explicit considerations about human beings and society. Categorical utopias lay out their theoretical basis so that both their foundations and their developed socio-economic system can be discussed scientifically. Therefore, it can be possible to turn utopias into science. At the end of the chapter, some limits and dangers of utopia are discussed.
