Abstract

A simple net fiscal impactFiscal impact of immigration compares what may be collected from the immigrants in tax revenues and the government contributions in terms of public benefits that they receive. Of course, the true accounting framework will be more complicated as government revenues may increase because the presence of the immigrants leads to investmentInvestment in housing and other consumer options such as supermarkets which will generate higher revenues.
