Abstract

This book introduces a multilevel and cross-level approach—regional, national, and subnational—to enhance our understanding of the geostrategies of the rising powers and economies in the Indo-Pacific region. The chapter concludes the book and reviews the arguments and provides a snapshot of how actors at various levels of international business (IB) and international security (IS) interact and influence each other. China and India are emerging markets and rising powers that provide important empirical examples for studying the IB-IS perspective with the geostrategy in focus. The similarity between China and India is found in their respective geostrategic national projects despite institutional differences between China and India in executing their national plans. Subsequently, we discuss the future implications of rapidly evolving issues. Building on the book’s findings, conclusions suggest that interdisciplinary studies between IB and IS have the academic potential to horizontally and vertically expand the scholarly inquiries of each academic field.
