Abstract

Organizational neuroscience focuses on understanding the neurobiology of human behavior in organizations. The purpose of this chapter is to provide a brief overview of the field, explore the relationship between neuroscience and leadership, and investigate the linkages between neurobiology and servant-leadership philosophy. This chapter intends to elucidate some of the ways that an understanding of neurobiology can inform leader behavior and how the philosophy and characteristics of servant-leadership complements and supports a neurobiologically informed leadership practice.
