Abstract

Data can possess an entirely different meaning when analyzed in a different context, and data becomes information when it is positioned in context. In the process of identifying relevant variables, markets, and institutions, care must be taken not to incorporate irrelevant data into the decision. After several chapters that focused on the importance of capturing the right amount of data in the first phase of the Observe-Orient-Decide-Act (OODA) loop, these next two chapters describe how to properly orient the data in the second phase of the OODA loop.
