Transformative Service Research: Where We Are and Moving Forward at the Collective Level

Abstract

This chapter surveys the most recent research in the developing field of Transformative Service Research (TSR). It identifies the continual building of themes of cocreation and wellbeing along with vulnerable consumers and inclusion inservices. Newer trends in TSR research include a multidisciplinary approach to TSR, more collective-level wellbeing emphasis, services bridging transformation to society, transformation and organizations, sustainability of the natural environment, and crises and wellbeing. The chapter suggests that the most important gap in TSR research is examining more at collective levels. Mutuality is suggested as a concept to further investigate, especially in light of the issues that came to the surface during the pandemic.
