Some Yet Unresolved Questions and Mysteries About the COVID-19 Pandemic

Abstract

This final chapter elaborates five yet unresolved questions with regard to the COVID-19 pandemic, each of which holds major importance for a rigorous analysis of the pandemic. The first is the origin of the novel coronavirus for which four hypotheses are proposed. The second is why the rich western nations were the most harmed by the pandemic, that is, during the pre-vaccine period. The third is why Southeast Asian nations mostly avoided the damage from the COVID-19. The fourth is why the COVID-19 had little effect on infants, kids, and school children. The fifth is how accurate was the COVID-19 test during 2020, especially, the rapid test. These questions cannot be satisfactorily answered today, but a set of hypotheses with regard to each question can be put forward. These questions may hold a key to unlocking the real nature of the COVID-19 pandemic.
