Abstract

FinTech is steeped in change, transformation, the rise of human interaction and communication. This change could allow for the platform needed to attack the gender imbalance in the space. I describe why the fourth industrial revolution of large-scale change for all of humankind allows for an increased attraction to STEM subjects. I explore why STEM isn’t being taken up by young girls and alternatives to that to still attract women to the industry through examples of women in senior positions within FinTech, who didn’t come from traditional STEM backgrounds. I explain how the perception of technology has changed as more human interaction is needed for better technology products.
