Abstract

AlthoughHousing demand thePakistan increasing population is the key source of human capital, but it also has many socio-economic and environmental implications for any country. The population explosion along with other factors such as urbanizationUrbanization, foreign remittancesRemittances, migration, conflicts, real estate business and governmentGovernment policies drastically impacts the housing marketHousing market dynamics. It is the responsibility of the governmentGovernment to provide housing facilities at affordable prices to accommodate the poor masses. The governmentGovernment should intervene in the housing sector to manage the house rentsRent, construction and landLand prices. This chapter highlighted the trends in the population, housing units at the ruralRural and urban levels in PakistanPakistan. Moreover, it also highlighted the key challenges facing the housing sector in PakistanPakistan.
