Abstract

It is clear that Arab countries have extremely different patterns and institutionalized habits for giving as compared with Western nations, from which the term of social entrepreneurship emerged. This is not to say that social entrepreneurship cannot exist in the Arab World, but more so that it already does exist (in some capacity). This chapter brings to light the cultural differences at play and offers possible solutions for addressing sustainability through the lens of entrepreneurship in the Arab World. Looking specifically at social entrepreneurship in the Arab world, and potentially more generally at social giving, Therefore, to engage with social entrepreneurship and with a focus on sustainability thoroughly and productively, we must engage with a furthered concept within the realm of Entrepreneurship—that being, Humane Entrepreneurship. In captivating the youth in the Arab World, we can establish a culture of Humane Entrepreneurship which will allow us to specify our usage of entrepreneurial ecosystems and frugal innovation to include all stakeholders in a greater conversation around entrepreneurship.
