Abstract

The paper reviews advantages of using innovative educational methods of water resources-related subjects in higher education institutions (HEIs) of Central Asia to improve the effectiveness of HEIs’ interaction through networking. Cross-regional HEIs collaboration is becoming most efficient with the use of online educational methods and interactive tools. The article demonstrates that education has a significant role in the facilitation of national and regional dialogue as well as cooperation on water resources issues, some of which are of transboundary nature. Comparing the obtained results with various international programs practices’ contributes to the discussion on new forms of higher education. Networking in the field of water education creates added value for study programs. This approach could foster cross-regional HEIs collaboration on water resource issues. The paper concludes with recommendations on network collaboration for promoting innovative educational methods at HEIs in Central Asia.
