The Creation of “Green” Investment Banks in the Context of Fourth Industrial Revolution

Abstract

Within the current development, a number of countries, including Russia, need economic restructuring and transformation of the development model to balance the national economy. One of the results of this transformation should be the formation of a system of “green” financing in the country, the demand for which is constantly growing. Such system should solve two problems: to expand the availability of funds for investing in “green” projects and to increase their investment attractiveness, as well as to improve the function of the capital market in allocating resources and servicing the real sector of the economy. The development of a “green” finance system has to be perceived as an integral part of the national development strategy. Today the most accessible instrument for financing projects is bank financing, in terms of investing projects is investment banking. A “green” bank should be a constantly evolving structure and ultimately strive to become a single center of competence and centralization of all processes related to “green” finance, within the framework of improving and giving them a new impetus for development.
