Siemens: UK’s First Fully Converted Electric Avenue “W9”

Abstract

“Electric Avenue, W9” stands in as a template for a fruitful cooperation of Siemens and Ubitricity, a company specialized in electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure. By utilizing the established net of lampposts, the capacity of Siemens and the know-how of Ubitricity, London, can be transformed into a leading city of EV-charging distribution. This includes flexible payment, or subscription methods, alongside the incentive to charge EVs overnight. The outcome would be cheaper charging stations, a substantial emission cut, and further incentives to buy hybrids or EVs. By standardizing the plug and the accompanying technology provided by Ubitricity, this project could be vital for a glimpse of the future of zero-emission vehicles.
