Influence of Climate Changes on Business Activity and Its Adaptation

Abstract

Purpose: The article puts forward a hypothesis that climate change influences the activity of a modern enterprise, its financial results and strategy planning. The research data in the field of climate change influence on modern business are analyzed. Design/methodology/approach: The world practice reveals that development of companies in the current context is impossible without improving constantly the efficiency of business process. Business must be ready to “raise the bar” and live up to new demands and new global challenges so that it would not lose its position. While researching the problem the following methods were used: generalization, observation, analysis, and interpretation of research data in the field of climate change and its influence on business. Findings: There is a change in resource availability, the structure of demand in the market, working conditions are changing, social pressure on the activity of enterprises is growing and they all influence the climate change. The article points out the risks that enterprises are running due to the above-mentioned changes and ways of adapting to these conditions are given.
