Abstract

Knowledge is a key asset for any organization and knowledge sharingKnowledge sharing represents the best strategy both for creating more knowledge and for applying that existing to improving efficiency and adding value to the business. However, knowledge is also power and its sharing becomes correspondingly difficult as a direct result reflected in the many barriers and walls that require overcoming. TrustTrust, motivation, collaboration are core drivers for a supportive organizational cultureSupportive organizational culture coupled with effective leadershipLeadership successfully nurturing the sharing of knowledge within the organization; communities of practiceCommunities of Practice (CoPs) are powerful vehicles for promoting a culture of learning and sharing of knowledge. This chapter sets out an overview of knowledge sharingKnowledge sharing, knowledge sharingKnowledge sharing barriers and perspectives on knowledge sharingKnowledge sharing behaviours to better overcome the barriers.
