Abstract

In these recent days, several studies have been carried out on Waqf investments, with discussions largely focusing on the Shari’ah rulings on Waqf investment, the types of Waqf investments, and the Shari’ah compliant avenues for these investments. There is, however, hardly any studies that has related Waqf investment to SDGs. The present chapter fills in this research gap. To facilitate the study, the chapter is structured into five sections. The subsequent section to the introduction, section two, discusses areas of SDGs investments. Section three analyzes Waqf investments in relation to investment areas in SDGs. Section four deliberates on the challenges Waqf investments face and provides some suggestions. The fifth section concludes the chapter and proposes the way forward.
