Abstract

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) reporting has increased attention from both business and academic world in the last decades. This chapter examines corporate social responsibility reporting in terms of its evolution, institutionalization, and current state. It explores how CSR and its reporting progressed as a concept and as a practical implementation area in the business world. Following the examination of institutionalization of CSR reporting with a historical perspective, the current state of CSR reporting in business and academia is revealed. The chapter also examined current CSR reporting frameworks throughout the World.
