Abstract

Modern Africa needs reliable infrastructural support. The key directions of sustainable development of the African economy at a modern stage are increase of accessibility of electric energy, provision of its autonomous character, and increase of energy efficiency. This envisages usage of alternative sources of energy—for example, solar energy—and increase of controllability of energy production and consumption, which is stimulated, in particular, by modernization of electric supply networks based on “smart” technologies (“Smart Grid”). This direction conforms to the priority of industrialization and digital modernization of countries of Africa and their transition to Industry 4.0.
