Abstract

A society is considered resilient when it can identify the threats raised against it, mitigate the social shock these threats can cause, adapt to the new regulations that might be imposed, and be able to recover to its original state. In this context, the new technological tools and emerging technologies can be strong allies of modern society. The confrontation of these threats must be addressed at both a policy and technical level, with the use of new algorithms and technologies. In this introductory chapter, there is a brief description of the possible future threats that might harm humanity, given the globalized and interconnected society.
