Abstract

To be able to conduct the different parts of research: reviewing literature, collecting data, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, etc., several skills are needed. This chapter sets out to introduce the most critical skills for conducting business research, with practical parts that can help researchers acquire and develop these skills. The chapter starts with the technical skills, which are directly linked to research work. It then moves to the soft skills, which improve a researcher life in general and, accordingly, his/her research work. A researcher may already have some of these skills to some extent. Though, developing these skills can highly improve his/her research achievements. The chapter ends up with ten principles for acquiring and developing skills.
