Abstract

This chapter covers mobile application security, recognizing the significant impact of security threats on users’ lives due to the widespread use of mobile apps. The chapter highlights the vulnerabilities and risks associated with mobile applications, including the theft of personal information and user tracking. The limited computational power and user interface of mobile devices make it easier for attackers to conceal their malicious activities. Key topics discussed include application security threats, vulnerabilities, information sensitivity, semantic security, infrastructure-related security, and privacy awareness. The chapter provides a set of best practices for both mobile users and app developers. Overall, this chapter emphasizes the importance of mobile application security and offers practical recommendations to mitigate security risks for both users and developers.
