Do the Individualized Differences in the Student; Age, Gender, Marital Status, Work Experience, and Educational Qualification Affect FOMO

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of demographic variables on Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) among students using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression method. The demographic variables studied include gender, educational qualification, work experience, and marital status. The results indicate significant relationships between these variables and FOMO. Specifically, age and work experience negatively impact FOMO, while gender, educational qualification, and marital status positively influence FOMO. The result of the study suggests that individual demographic factors play a crucial role in shaping FOMO among students. Future research should broaden its scope to include more diverse populations and additional psychological variables to provide a more comprehensive understanding of FOMO.
