A Study of Factors Affecting Intention to Use Sugar-Free Drinks of FPT Students

Abstract

The global population is increasingly concerned about the link between diet and overall well-being, with a growing awareness of the link between sugar consumption and diseases like obesity, heart disease and type 2 diabetes. The food and beverage industry is working to create healthier products, with sugar-free beverages becoming popular. These beverages offer a balance between flavour and calorie reduction, making them a popular choice for consumers. A study using the Theory of Planned Behavior was conducted to examine Vietnamese students' attitudes towards sugar-free beverages. The results showed a positive correlation between students' intention to consume sugar-free drinks and their subjective norms, attitudes perceived behavioural control and self-efficacy, while a negative correlation was found between students' intention to drink sugar-free beverages and their perception of obstacles.
