Abstract

This paper examines some aspects of the use of digital technologies in the process of tourist and recreational development of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Particular attention is paid to the monuments that are included in the special list of sites in danger of extinction. As a result of the research, the main directions of the digitalisation of the tourism and recreation development process were identified. The proposed structure allows a more systematic consideration of the specifics of using modern technologies in this type of activity. The authors propose to focus attention of representatives of the scientific and practical community on the innovative forms of tourist and recreational development of these objects in the context of digitalisation. The researched materials show that innovative information technologies play an important role in the process of tourist and recreational development of World Heritage Sites. This process is becoming the most demanded means of protecting and preserving these sites, especially those that are in danger of destruction.
