Abstract

The research goal is to identify prerequisites and limiting factors and determine the conditions for the implementation of projects aimed at the sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex. The study solves the following problems: identification of external and internal prerequisites for the implementation of sustainable development agenda for various sectors of the agricultural economy; determination of the interaction of the categories “sustainable development,” “green economy,” and “circular economy” as a tool for achieving the objectives of the “green economy”; “circular economy” tools are adapted to the practice of agricultural production; and the need for an integrated approach to the implementation of projects in the field of agriculture and conservation of natural landscapes is substantiated. As a result of the study, external and internal reasons hindering their implementation were identified and systematized including lack of comprehensive projects that have a synergistic effect to preserve the natural potential of the territory and save resources in the agricultural sector; measures were proposed aimed at adjusting the functions and powers of regional ministries of economic development, suggesting increase of their role in organizing the development and implementation of complex agro-eco-projects.
