Abstract

The present study seeks to uncover the extent of big data analytics adoption within the tourism industry of European Union nations. Secondly, it aims to identify a potential correlation between the deployment of big data analytics and higher turnover rates in these businesses. Through comprehensive evaluation of datasets accumulated from 2016 to 2020, the research unveils interesting patterns and trends related to the use of big data analysis and revenue generation in the tourism sector. We expect the results to show that in countries with a significant percentage of tourism businesses that utilize big data analysis, these countries are likely to show an increased index of turnover associated with their services. The implications of this study are far-reaching. It is anticipated that the results will provide valuable insights for businesses in the tourism sector and policy makers. If a positive correlation is identified, it could potentially encourage more extensive application of big data analytics in the industry, leading to enhanced business growth, competitiveness, and economic prosperity. Furthermore, the findings may also stimulate further research into the effective application of big data analytics across different sectors.
