Abstract

The digitization of the tourism industry represents the key factor for overcoming fragmentation. Besides creating closer connections with customers, it underpins interoperable data-sharing mechanisms that can more efficiently connect stakeholders along the tourism value chain, surpassing territorial barriers and at the same time fostering a collaborative innovation mindset that could create new business opportunities for the traditional industry and improve operational efficiency. In this context, human capital becomes the most competitive and unique resource in the modern development of high-tech industries and the formation of the digital economy, the ongoing processes of digitization having an impact on the formation and development of the organizational culture. The research aims to study the state of digitization in the tourism sector, its potential directions for development, and to analyze the influence of digitization factors on human capital. The digitization of the tourism industry makes businesses in this field more flexible, adapted to modern conditions, and more competitive in a dynamic “digital world.” The result of this research is to provide new digital opportunities for tourism businesses.
