Abstract

The main focus point of this paper has been chosen based on today’s trends in the Information Technology field, as companies’ interest in automating manual processes is a continuous investment. Specifically, this article focuses on the Robotic Process Automation concept and the way this technology is perceived among companies at present. As part of the scientific research, a questionnaire has been addressed to people working with Robotic Process Automation in different fields, in order to bring to attention different behaviors that Robotic Process Automation teams express today. The objective of this paper is to analyze the responses and interpret the results according to theoretical concepts, chosen as point of reference. The questionnaire was designed to reflect preferences among Robotic Process Automation providers, areas with automation potential, as well as possible drawbacks of the technology, that could reside in potentially areas of improvement. As highlights of the research, it has been identified what are employees’ preferences in terms of tools used for project implementation, challenges that employees who work with Robotic Process Automation every day are facing, as well as a general perspective on how this technology is currently affecting internal business processes and it is expected to evolve in the near future.
