Abstract

Analytical and methodological instruments evaluating the performance of companies have a long history and are rich in quantity. Each one has its pros and cons, many are frequently criticized, or are more or less suitable just for research or practical evaluation. In the context of new environmental or innovation challenges the automotive production faces, this paper aims to analyze the added value created in the automotive industry in Slovakia at the level of final assembly in the long-term run, including its structure and deviations and to identify main differences between individual producers. The paper focuses on final car producers in Slovakia in the period from 2009 to 2021 and compares them according to generated accounting value-added, its dynamics and structural components, main identified factors, productivity measures, and according to the economic value-added (EVA) ZERO threshold. The results brought many specific details of long-term production, in which individual companies differ, specifics hidden behind them and the effectiveness, by which these companies have achieved their production and financial success.
