Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to identify the variables that determine the sustainability of food waste in the agro-industrial sector of Michoacan, Mexico. To achieve this purpose, a PLS-SEM model was developed using agrifood management, the supply chain and green marketing and their relationship with food waste sustainability, finding that the supply chain determines food waste sustainability. The value of this research is in trying to identify the main factor for sustainability to improve food systems and implement better agricultural practices to contribute to the maintenance of ecosystems.
