Abstract

Consumer knowledge of environmental concerns is raising demand for environmentally friendly items, which implies taking into account products’ packaging. Not surprisingly, multinational corporations are concentrating on packaging advancements in order to decrease waste, increase recycled content, and develop more renewable packaging materials. Based on the theory of planned behavior, we aim to assess the antecedents of purchase behavior by using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) for data analysis. Data were obtained from 388 completed surveys in late 2020 through Qualtrics platform. The questionnaire was mainly distributed to supermarket customers in Mexico.
