Abstract

The rapid accumulation of data from different sources and in various forms has increased the interest of researchers in big data. The idea of big data analytics emerges at the same time as a need for more efficient management of a company’s data, but also as an opportunity to use these data more efficiently. Recent years many techniques and applications for data analysis have been developed. Businesses use these techniques to share knowledge, improve decision-making, and support strategic planning using big data. The purpose of this paper is to conduct a literature review based on Webster and Watson’s (MIS Quarterly 26:13–23, 2002) methodology to examine the strategic value of bisg data analytics. Then, a conceptual framework which presents the strategic planning process of big data analytics projects is presented.
