Abstract

Budgeting systems have been functioning in numerous companies for many years; however, the state of their development differs significantly in individual cases. Differences can also be observed in the scope of the realized tasks. In some companies, budgeting covers far fewer tasks than in others. This causes a situation where the effects of such systems of management in relation to the cost of their functioning do not always bring favourable results. Therefore these companies often think that budgeting is a system which does not satisfy the requirements of a dynamically changing economy, and that the use of budgeting should be abandoned. There is also another group of enterprises, in which budgeting is considered a very useful system for their management. In this case, budgeting realizes several indispensable tasks, and hence for such enterprises, the relation between the incurred outlay and the obtained effect becomes positive.
