Leadership, Economic Growth, and the New Industrialization

At the end of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st centuries, the leading scientific paradigm of new industrialization has replaced the paradigm of the post-industrial society. This happened due to the fact that economic reality has proved to be a failure for scientists who tried to explain the decline of industry in the national economy by new trends. An important step in the study of the processes of new industrialization in the economic space of the macro-region is the choice of the correct scientific research methodology. The goal of launching the processes of new industrialization in the whole country and in the territory of its regions is to achieve economic growth and advanced development. Therefore, the scientific methodology for the economic growth studies which is of particular interest for our study is what we call “the new industrialization.” The methodology of economic growth and advanced development in the framework of the study of industrialization (new industrialization) allows us to take into account a vivid manifestation of the new world trend of slowing economic growth in most developed countries and their regions. It is what they call “a new normal reality” (or “economic growth without growth”) because previously used growth recovery drivers disappeared. Our paper shows that there is a close relationship between the processes of industrialization and the achievement of a new quality of economic growth and advanced development of the country and its regions. Moreover, we show that there is a high degree of interconnection between the degree of leadership, as well as the level of industry technological development and the economic growth of the country and its regions.
