Abstract

The emergency response market is considered as the most far from warfare, in which drones were incepted. The multicase study research focusing on three NGOs operating to save the lives of migrants in distress at sea in the Mediterranean area showed that emergency is indeed a market suitable for disruption. Moreover, being a not for profit field, the disruption by commercial drones follows a different path than other civilian markets. Commercial drones will likely spread among civilian markets and disrupt several of them, including emergency.
