Abstract

Since the rough set was initialized by Pawlak [295], it has been applied to many fields. Later, many scholars proposed the concept of two-fold uncertain variables combined rough variables with fuzzy and random variables. The concept of random rough variables (abbr. Ra-Ro variable) has proposed by many scholars [207, 345, 344], and it has been widely extended to many fields. Xu and Yao [345, 344, 347, 346] discussed the basic definition and properties of the Ra-Ro variables, and introduced the expected value model, chance constrained model, dependent chance model and bi-level model, respectively. Some crisp equivalent models are given, and relative algorithms are proposed. Finally, these models and algorithms are applied to some realistic problems, such as, queuing problems, inventory problems, production-inventory systems and so on.
