Phase 1. Birth of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem

Abstract

This chapter addresses the planning phase of the local ecosystem, positioning the university as a central and leading actor, to serve as a guide through an EOE (which can be a technology park, accelerator, among others) which will serve to design the initial mechanisms and establish the bases to ensure the successful birth of the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. The latter (entrepreneurship) will be the one that, according to the proposal, fosters projects that come mainly from university students, without leaving aside the undertakings of other actors such as researchers, professors, administrative staff of the institution, as well as entrepreneurs from abroad. To do this, the following stages are generally proposed in this phase 1 shown in Fig. 3.1.
