Abstract

Using household survey data for 54 low- and middle-income countries harmonized with trade and tariff data, this book offers a quantitative assessment of the income gains and inequality costs of trade liberalization and the potential trade-off between them. The material in this book summarizes the results in our companion papers, which we complement with additional results as well as with more details and discussions.
