Abstract

Single-parent families can rely on particular attention in the literature as they are often over-represented in the poorer segments of the population. This is also the case in the MEQIN data: while the general risk of poverty is 14.5% (as described in Chap. 5 ), the same risk of poverty among single-parent families is no less than 24.5%. It is therefore important to gain a clear picture of the specific needs of these families.
