Abstract

FDI is considered to be an important source of capital, especially for developing and emerging economies. According to the recent World Investment Reports, it has remained the largest source of external financial funds to developing countries, far surpassing official aid and remittances (with the exception of the least-developed countries). Most importantly, it remains a more stable source of financing, as opposed to highly volatile portfolio investment and bank loans.
